Sub the work out.
Unfortunately can't do that - the contract stipulates that we complete the work ourselves and don't subcontract.
Hah it's as if they are trying to find an excuse not to change contractor then!
You will hire the relevant equipment and carry out the work using staff from a sister company.
Yeah - it is a bit like that, but I need to go through the whole process for myself really, don't mind if we don't get it but gotta give it a go.
Hire in is good, and split storage locations and multiple vehicles should help.
whos the customer Daniel ? PM me if you dont want to say publicly, I have a lot of tender experience

Thanks Gaynor - appreciate it - I think it's mostly just getting my head around it and coming up with something suitable for the answer!
Brian - the contract is for a emergency service provider with multiple sites.
Daniel,
Hopefully you know who currently has the contract and if it is who I think it is, I would be very surprised if it was awarded to another company. However that’s not to say it isn’t worth a shot or that you wouldn’t be in with a sporting chance or at worst a useful exercise to undertake and be prepared for the many more that will crop up.
For the Business continuity, it is just as Gaynor has stated and whilst I appreciate that the contract terms stated that the work should not be sub contracted out (and again if it is the same company that I am thinking of, the work probably is already of a fashion), I would suggest stating (in addition to the normal answers to the what if type scenarios) that you have a disaster recovery contingency arrangements with another company in the event of a major disaster with built in service level agreements.
I know exactly who has the contract because myself and my business partner used to work with the company that currently has it, it's why we know we can do the work as my business partner effectively managed the site for the 6 years he was there. It isn't the big company that you may be thinking of though, for once.
It really is an exercise that needs to be done - we are really hoping to expand our company this year on residential group and commercial properties.
Well if you and Chris have worked for the company and managed the site for 6 years I would assume that you have sufficient inside information to get the contract. Using the knowledge of the old company/ internal procedures and processess etc. hopefully you can improve upon these and put forward a cracking case.
That's what we are hoping for :)
