i am bidding on a fencing job for a school and have been asked to confirm i comply with the above for my construction of palisade fences, having looked at all the other fences on their premises i exceed the current standards on site but i can't find a copy of the relevant standard anywhere thats not going to cost me a fortune and make the job not cost effective.

 

can anyone help with what this standard constitutes please.

    Would you specifically be after the bit that relates to

    "Specification for close-boarded fences and wooden palisade"

     i.e. part 5 of the BS you quote or the whole document?

    Having worked for a local council for years, sounds like the sort of nonsense they write............. if it was me, I'd just confirm it as you're obviously working to a good standard.......... thats one of the reasons I escaped from the council.... to get away from all their "red tape", risk assessments, health and safety..........  the thought of it all is bringing back nightmares!!

    Funnily enough, just typed "bs1722 part 5" into Google and some useful info appears to be there....... whether it's enough for your needs, don't know.
