bs1722 part 5

i am bidding on a fencing job for a school and have been asked to confirm i comply with the above for my construction of palisade fences, having looked at all the other fences on their premises i exceed the current standards on site but i can't find a copy of the relevant standard anywhere thats not going to cost me a fortune and make the job not cost effective.

can anyone help with what this standard constitutes please.

  • Would you specifically be after the bit that relates to

"Specification for close-boarded fences and wooden palisade"

i.e. part 5 of the BS you quote or the whole document?

  • Having worked for a local council for years, sounds like the sort of nonsense they write............. if it was me, I'd just confirm it as you're obviously working to a good standard.......... thats one of the reasons I escaped from the council.... to get away from all their "red tape", risk assessments, health and safety..........  the thought of it all is bringing back nightmares!!

    thanks Will very grateful

  • Funnily enough, just typed "bs1722 part 5" into Google and some useful info appears to be there....... whether it's enough for your needs, don't know.
