  • Afraid I cant help with "Opponent" but let me know how you get on as I read that fungicides suppress but do not kill the fungus? Possibly regular spraying will keep it at bay but it seems that where its got a foothold, replanting with an alternative might be the way forward? I've got a nasty case of it myself (!?) and am considering replacing box with something else...........
  • Its made by BASF, and also sold as "Covershield". Don't know why it has 2 brand names.

You could try calling BASF and asking where your local distributor is, tel : 0161 485 6222

  • One of ,y clients has a large number of Box in a formal garden. Due to the damp conditions this year blight has taken hold. my only solution is to replace with something like Lonicera nitidea but before we do that I would like to try a chemical agent.

The latest I've seen from the RHS is that Fungicides don't eradicate the blight but some may control it.
    Does anyone know otherwise please?

  • We are spraying and it does seem to be keeping it reasonably at bay. Still get damage - but also regrowth. I can send you a copy of our spraying regime if you like - you would need to email me.
