Yes you notice a running difference immediately, but the side benefit is that your vehicle loses the petrol smell as well. This can make a huge difference on warm days.
The difference in fumes is remarkable with the hedge trimmers but not as good as battery powered stuff!
I asked my local shop about Aspen this morning as i got a pamphlet about it with my mower. He said very few companies use it and that they mainly sell it to old folks which i was surprised about. Maybe larger companies buy it in bulk elsewhere, not sure. It's something like £17 for 5Lts where i go, don't know if i could justify that regardless of how good it is!
I've got a couple of bottles that I use in the hedge trimmers.
It's too expensive for the strimmers as I can use 5 litres a day sometimes.
Bringing a old thread back up from the dead.
Been using Aspen for a couple of months now after starting the day feeling fit and healthy to get two jobs in and the headaches starting. By the end of the working day I wanted to drill a hole in my head was that bad plus felt sluggish. Hour at home and felt fine again.
Switched all the 2 stroke machines over and haven't had one headache since plus work rate has increased due to not feeling sluggish.
My way of paying for the extra cost was to add £2-3 on each job and promote the fact we was going slightly greener over normal pump fuel. Not one customer questioned the increase.
Hi Harry,
I have been told over here in Belgium not to use the Aspen etc on older existing machines, rather on newly purchased ones. The advice was that on older machines it wasnt worth it , that the best benefit was to begin with a new one . The only thing I would disagree with that on was the fumes from an older machine are not as bad with the synthetic stuff..
