Are the HTA loaded?

At the end of last week, we were surprised by a package from the HTA.Since we are not members, and it was addressed to us, we opened the package.SURPRISE, okay it was not that big, it contained a leaflet advertising National Conifer Week and a bl**dy great big banner! Now, since the Nursery that we rent has never been Retail, why oh why, should they send us one? Now perhaps they know that I love Pines and Picea, but I don't think that they know me that well, to personally send me a MASSIVE banner to tell the world about my love of ornamental conifers. The truth is, as in any big organisation, they have not a clue who or what their membership is or wants. So if anyone is planting a Leylandii hedge, or just a couple of Pinus and wants a banner to promote it next week, we can help, it's yours for free, just call.

I had similar experiences when we were members of the APL. We didn't need to label plants and we had no need for garden centre displays nor any kind of garden centre related promotional literature, yet we received bundles of it through the post.
  • Why not just contact us and ask to be unsubscribed from Plant for Life?
  • Sorry - just read your post through again and realised you said you weren't a member!

HTA isnt loaded - we're a membership organistion using membership resources to promote the gardening industry in the UK - hence National Conifer week for conifer growers and retailers. Sometimes we make mistakes and its clear your name is on our Plant for Life database for some reason.
I've mailed our promotions manager and asked her to make sure you are taken off the list

    Hope this helps

  • How far do you think we'd get if we spoke to our customers like this? Maybe you should revisit some of your own customer care training?

  • Andrew,

Many thanks for picking up on this.

To clarify, the Nursery has never been a Retail site or a Conifer Nursery. Our business started trading on July 2010, and we have not registered for your Plant for Life database.

Would you like your banner back?

    Steve
