With my online news and info hat on, I wonder if people have taken a look at the growing number of so-called 'hyperlocal' websites that are popping up across the UK?

 

I've helped with tips and advice to some of these websites in the past, but one thing they are keen to develop is connections with local businesses.

 

Many of the people behind such sites realise that regional newspapers and Yellow Pages are not helping smaller business owners, so are keen to work with local businesses that will help their readers.

 

Advertising rates are usually very competitive, and if you enjoy writing then you might be able to offer a monthly column, but these sites are growing and often have a strong presence in local search, as well as Facebook and Twitter.
