    it was initially ruined by a mistake of throwing an old half sack of iron sulphate on it a year ago. (not me).

    its a regular , in london. ive tried to recover it . its hard clay.......... im planning on rotovating , level/rake , 1 tonne maybe topsoil. fertilizer and amenity turf.

    why seed , instead of turf ?

    not a bad idea logistically .! i could knock off 25% seeding. not sure tennant would be happy.

    I would probably rotovate , add fresh top soil, grade out and seed, no turf.

    think it was 6m x 4.7 ...... it was initially ruined by a mistake of throwing an old half sack of iron sulphate on it a year ago. (not me). see brown/reddy patches . it was also shaded by indian/bean type tree next door untill i crowned them...

    I am just finishing a heavy clay returf tmrw. Original plan was 3 days, 2T topsoil. Turnedout to now be on 5th day and 4T topsoil. Its horrible, so you will have to take a bit more than you usually would just to get a workable surface.
