Flu....

So this week I've spent 4 days in bed and today I'm up and about but still not ready for a full day by any means !!! So that has cost me about £500....ouchNow my mrs work place gave them all the flu jab this year (they are an accountants so would weigh up the benefits V costs etc of going this route, I'm certainly thinking of having one next year,.. ok there is no certain way of stopping it but if it means I skip a couple of years & improve my odds I'll be happy. What do you lot reckon, good idea, any cons ??

  • Hi Mark
I too spend from last Thursday afternoon till yesterday feeling utterly dreadful with flu (actually think I had man flu so you know how awful it was) and was under pressure with work.

Had to come up with a detailed design plan for a job which had to be finished, photocopied and coloured by Wednesday. All week I have been designing at the board in little snatches of time until the pain killers wore off and the draw of the sofa became too much and I just HAD to sleep.

It's a no brainer, even if it doesn't cost me money to get the flu, I have no intention of getting it ever again even if someone paid me mega bucks! 2009 - Jab me up!

    Kerrie
  • dont forget, the flu-jab is actually the flu virus ,of a specific strain of flu that is expected that season,so to keep protected, you need a yearly jab,you may get some minor flu symptoms anyway, but by having the jab,it will boost your anti-bodies for when the real thing hits.......jab me up too
  • Been speaking to a few folk about this and the new jabs work really well hardly any flu symptoms are experienced these days, one of my customers has been having flu jab almost since they began and hasn't had the flu since & she is a game old bird...

Looks like a no brainer ...if you work for yourself or employ a gang..consider it ;-)
  • I've been dubbed up since Wednesday and it aint nice - especially since i should be out celebrating the end of another season and instead i'm couped up in the office! Worst is my wife and 2 yr old have got it now too and we're all getting on a train for Portsmouth at 7am tomorrow morning! Yeeuch!
  • Good luck tomorrow to you, Mrs Nicky and little Nicky! Take much Calpol, Lemsip max hot lemon drink, hankies, lipsalve (cause your lips get dry breathing though your mouth) and pillows to sleep on!

    Happy Christmas!
  • Thanks Kerrie and a Happy Christmas to you too!

Niall my father-in-law stays on King's Terrace at the other side of Southsea. Its great craic down there, we love it and go down 2 or 3 times a year. Great boozers with none of the hassle you get up here!

    Cheers
