have you seen damage from root trees?

I was writing today about damage from roots (trees bamboo ,plants) on my website.If anyone knows about any cases,trees names that known as troubles potential?or if in case anyone have a good photograph of damage to foundations, competition with other plants, drying the ground around.or any photograph of the use of root barrier in your project.Interesting case I had was olive tree roots that manage to get through a dripp irrigation and block it. and many severe cases of tropical trees but I am looking for information from the uk.thanksofer

    We have some Lombardy Poplars close to the house. They were planted at the same time as the house, and as such haven't caused a problem, but my understanding is that if we fell them the change could well cause a problem. I think its got more to do, in my case, with how much the Lomardy's drink, rather than the damage their roots could cause, and thus the damage that that amount of, "new", water could cause in terms of heave and so on.
