Bamboo

Hi i have just joined and wondered if anyone has ever had to tackle Bamboo before, as in the removal of vast quantities. Any tips that do not involve back breaking digging.

  • I would like to know too! Sprayed with round up for several weeks, bamboo looking stressed. Just know that it will come back BIG TIME in the spring.
  • Hi Pea

Where are you based? May be able to get it done for you, possibly for free.
  • Hi Pea

Just had a job to remove a huge bamboo, we just chain sawed it close to the ground and used a mini digger to dig out the roots.
  • The garden is in Forest Row, Sussex. Have 2 clumps now, Although when i first started working in the garden there was an entire bed that the previous owner had planted and of course the current opne wanted it removed, especially as it was begining to take over the lawn. I just remember how long and how hard it was to remove and i am still finding the odd bit 7 years on. The customer has just decided to have the last remaining clumps dotted over the garden to be removed.
