Husqvarna release Li-Ion battery powered chainsaws for commercial market

Husqvarna recently released a series of 36v Li-ion powered Chainsaws, with several models (536LiXP and T536LiXP) aimed the commercial/professional user.

It seems the newest/upgraded products are currently only available in the US and come equipped with a number of neat features such a savE mode to reduce/save power for less demanding jobs such a trimming/brashing etc. The Top handled saw appears available in the UK.

Husqvarna state they offer the performance of a gasoline powered engine with a cleaner and quieter experience. As emerging technology I think this a great and look forward to new innovative products that remove some of the bad aspects of petrol engined tools (pollution, cost & noise).

Time and user feedback will, I guess, determine how true that statement is.... but it is clear there is a real move (ie Etesia/Pellenc and now Husky) to put high powered battery based tools in the hands of the commercial / professional users...

No more "banshee" chainsaws ?
