I'm suffering a bit with the symptoms of vibration white finger. My hands tingle some times and when they are cold and wet the ends of my fingers go numb. Time to take this seriously - better late than never.
I have a pellenc battery and hedge trimmer which i find to have the lowest vibrations i have ever come across. Having used the rest of the tools on a demo i can safely say that they too have near to zero vibes. The low weight and fumeless operation can only be good for my health too.
I am now so worried about this complaint that i am reviewing all my machinery and will opt for the models with the lowest vibes. A pellenc blower and strimmer should be with me by the middle of next week with the chainsaw and powered pruners to come in early september (cant afford them all at once). This takes care of most of my 2 stroke equipment.
However i am at a bit of a loss as to what 4 stroke equipment to buy. I run a Honda Pro 21" roller mower and Honda 17" roller push mower. I find my hands tingling after using these especially after long periods. The 17" is 11 years old and past its best so will be retired next year. The 21" pro is not very old and i would hate to part with it. My dolmar scarifier is also getting ditched as it is crap and is the worst offending machine i have as far as vibes go.
What are your opinions and who makes mowers with the lowest vibe levels?
Thanks, stu

Hi Stuart, a few threads have mentioned this in the past, one here might help:
Mitigating vibration
Anti-vibration gloves seem a popular option as well.
I had much the same problem last year - I found Paul (Pro-guards) advice pretty spot on, choosing for vibrations over all else - I did look at Pellenc equiptment in the Autumn, but found the cost of replacing All my tools too much, at over £3000, and as much of mine is under 2 years old, not cost effective.
Pellenc Discussion - http://www.landscapejuicenetwork.com/forum/topics/electric-power-to...
I Found Good anti vibe gloves worked a treat, always using tools in short bursts, and often you dont need to Rev the engine fully. Most lawns the lanwmower is on half power or less, same for strimming and hedge trimming. Knock on effect of a good fuel saving too.
How are you finding the Pellenc, As I would be interested over time in moving over to it as finances allow.
Yes, the pellenc tools are expensive but i think my health and ability to carry on doing this job are much more important. I used to hate hedge cutting with a passion - the weight, vibrations, fumes in my eyes and lungs, noise, heat and fatigue all added up. I no longer have any of these problems with the pellenc, it is a joy to use and i feel much calmer and content when using it. I cant wait to replace my other 2 stroke equipment.
The whole battery concept with cable to the tool takes a bit of getting used to but it becomes normal after a while. I am much happier at work and when i get home to my family in the evening.
I intend to buy some of them proflex gloves for use with my mowers which also cause me problems. I would love to know which manufacturer/model has the lowest vibes. I wish Pellenc or Etesia would come up with a battery powered one that could mow for extended periods. I will try dropping the engine revs but this also affects the travel speed with my honda.
Thanks, stu
you never know what the futer holds stuart
also i have word that pellenc are working right no on a quick connection system / adapter, when its going to be ready i couldnt say but im sure it will be some time soon as i have argued the point that with people eventualy haveing the compleat set you dont want to be swaping cables by unscreewing them all the time, so that is on its way

robin - oh i also sympathise (and dry hands well) i dont take my gloves off with machines when busy ..
mine is much much better ............. just my back now ! :) get those old tools sold....
all the vibe figurs we print in the uk are from an independant test same as what we print on the pellenc tools aswell, we say that under perfect factory set conditions you can almost half some vibe figures but who in there whole life has used a mower under perfect factory controled conditions.
when contacting other manufatures just keep this in mind and ask them if there vibe test was done in house or independantly as this will make a huge differnce to what you will feal at the handle
