About you and your business ( please complete)
I first started gardening armed only with the natural instinct of an Englishwoman for the garden. I managed a number of garden projects in Spain where I lived for four years with my French husband, a property developer. When our family moved to Kent, in the South East of England in 1982, I assumed the mantle of ‘head gardener’ for the renovation of 7 acres of neglected historic parkland. This was to be a gigantic labour of love though an eager curiosity for garden history and some informal horticultural and design courses were necessary to cope with the size of such a project. Eleven years on, the family moved to France where my acquired knowledge and passion for gardens became a career move after studying for the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) diploma. My own instinctive approach to creating a landscape is: eco-friendly, naturally beautiful, full and lush but above all sustainable and inspired by nature. I like the challenge of finding low maintenance solutions that bear in mind that the garden is there to be enjoyed not to enslave. Considerations such as long-term budget or available upkeep time should always be primary decision-making factors; after all, the result needs to correspond to its owners and their lifestyle! In 2000, I co-founded Abacalys International, a Normandy based landscaping company were we catered to many Anglophone clients. It was here that the idea of proposing my knowledge and experience to a larger Anglophone community in France via the internet was formed. I have since developed a bi lingual French/English online garden and design consultancy. Thank you for joining up - I thought that you may be interested in the design work near Libourne - if you contact Barrie Hoar directly - details on his profile page here https://landscapejuice.ning.com/profiles/blog/show?id=2074886%3ABlog...
Barrie will give you all of the details of how to get involved - I must warn you though that there is some competition here - I think the image of drinking a rich red wine on a sun drenched terrace has got all of the juices flowing.
Kind regards
Phil
