We use Algoclear Pro or Mac HiPower from Progreen. Both are 40% DDAC and very effective. Quick and easy to apply with a Dosatron unit but otherwise a knapsack sprayer can be used.
Benzalconium Chloride is really the stuff to use https://trade-chem.co.uk/bac50/bac50-benzalkonium-chloride/ 1.5 litres in 15-20 litres of water treats roughly 100 square metres. Algoclear uses the same basic ingredients at a slightly lower concentration and much more expensive Moss goes brown in about 3 days and the surface stays clear of live moss for months. If there's thick moss present, I prefer to strim the majority off first if possible and then apply the chemical. I buy it in 25 litre container with free postage..... very heavy though!! Do it now and there's a 10% discount
Doff patio cleaner works a treat. All you need is a dry day and a sprayer and then just leave it. No need to wash off.
The sites I do cNt use bleaching agents so I use sapphire it seems to work well 2 sprays a year does the trick. Used to use mmc pro but that didn't work for long at all a few weeks and it needed doing again. Hypochlorite is best if your OK to use bleaching agents
I'm guessing you had the dose wrong with mmc-pro I've used it before to have success with it and hardsurfaces stayed clear for months......... in fact I sprayed mossy fence with it 9 years ago and its still completely clear.
Depends where in the country you are. I'm in the lake district very wet very dull great for moss growth. I used it on its strongest dilution I did email them and they said themselves it won't last long and would require multiple treatments.
Acetic acid works brilliantly, even in the colder weather (as long as it's dry). Get some 30% stuff of eBay, don't bother with Algon - it's very expensive.
Thanks folks, some useful suggestions there.
