Well it is from the Daily Mail!! :-)
Sadly I think the figures are about right and does show how much some jobs within the public service pay very well which comes out of our taxes.
The source of the figures is stated as HMRC & PAYE systems - I wonder how these salaries been normalised or standardised?
Anyone that runs a business (ie such as us on LJN) - from a sole prop. to a ltd company works far in excess of a standard working week with a large percentage unpaid. That is what frustrates me about 'employed' people - they work their allotted hours and go home and them complain about what bosses earn....
Without "well paid" Bosses and Entrepreneurs, who have the ability to generate employment, opportunities and wealth for the county we would all be much poorer....
Saturday morning, grumpy old man rant over.,....;-)
Taxi drivers at £13.5K - little devils!!
But we all know that one - cash in Hand all the way!
As for gardeners, could alot of the stats be skewed by people paying themselves in Dividends as and when their company is doing well, with alot of 2-3 man Ltd companies, that could mean 1/3 of the workforce taking their pay quite legally, outside of the scope of PAYE.
