In York, a city with many trees, the council seem to make a point of cutting off as many lower limbs as they can each year, eventually making the tree unstable!
  • I don't think it will do much good given the way decisions are made by those without any knowledge whatsoever, Just looking at Headingly in Leeds - London Planes planted in 3ft Di treepits 4ft from a wall, but in the large verges on a formerly tree lined street, a few dead Rowans and some Amelanchier's in verges which could comfortably hold Large Lime's or Planes (as they did until a few years back).
I may be a cynic - but the money would be better spent on providing well planned green spaces, or refurbishing some run down parks into places which people would actually use.
