Purely down to the weather.
Leave them alone and they'll go as quickly as they came.
Just out of curiosity have you put any topsoil down ?
no top soil was put down ...cheers
It's autumn, the fungi are fruiting.
I've seen some great mushrooms and toadstools this year, but you need to post a pic if we're to know if they might be a problem, or perfectly harmless.
I get this every year - just mow them up - the fungi live in the soil and when the weather is right, they fruit - and produc a toadstool or mushroom to do so, then they disapear. The fungus spends most of its life as Hypha under and in the soil - Hundrends of meters of it in every square meter - nothing you can do to stop it.
Also I would not want to - they are more important than plants in the overall shceme of things holding the soil together and keeping it alive and healthy!
