strimmer keeps flooding

Hi. Have bought a brand new combi tool (Parker). After 10 minutes and trying next attachment, the engine decided to flood. I have taken the plug out 20 times, cranked it over the clear the piston. Emptied the fuel tank a couple of times. Ran the motor til the fuel was used up. Still wet plug . Engine dies after 20/30 seconds. Bogs down when i pull the trigger. I dont want to start messing with the adjustment screw cos that should be at the correct setting , from the factory.

any ideas please?

  • if its new take it back do not mess about with it as it might invalidate your guarantee

  • I guess that's why they're only £120 for the lot with all the attachments. Amazingly cheap. As David says, just return it. If you could raise a bit more cash, you'd do better to get something of a better quality......... you'll probably have endless problems using something for light domestic use commercially.

      • I've often wondered about those Titan combi's they almost seem to cheap, when i start looking at detail and gearing my self up for a purchase, man maths starts and i end up thinking 'if i spend another hundred then another then another what do i get' in the end i'm looking at a Stihl which i couldn't justify in the first place!

        • I bought a Honda engined Mountfield mower from Screwfix when it was on offer. A spot weld failed, they just replaced the whole unit. We're doing less and less mowing so this is the way I will go in future. Had enough of fixing mowers, even ones only a year old.

            • A tree surgeon told me that he has started buying Chinese climbing saws and using them still the died as it worked out cheaper than buying genuine makes ie Stihl and Husky!

  • It really is a shame that in an industry which is supposed to care for the environment we are attracted to this cheap 'throw away' equipment. Surely it is better to buy machines which are built to last than adding to the enormous waste problem which will be our legacy to future generations if we don't act now. It can't all be about cost if we are to change the way society thinks about waste.

    • I agree with that!

        • Another valid argument John!

          • Whats the saying buy cheap buy twice?  There does seem to be the most incredable amount of cheap stuff about at the moment i guess aimed at the home market!

  • just to update. have sent 2 emails and had good customer service so far from Parker. I have to rebox my combi and arrive a courier. Its going back for a replacment or refund. Before i shell out for another unit i would to wait and see if Parker give my a small goodwill voucher to sweeten me.
