Fair play to your wife i can speak from experience what she did was very dangerous and very brave you must be proud =]
good on her, but she should not have thrown it out of the window if she had split it in the kitchen it could have set all the building alight. (hope it did not damage the grass)
something of interest that was only just brought to my attention recently and i wonder if many people know the answer ?. If you have a complaint in a restaurant and your food is poor you can throw it back over the counter to them, but its against the law to throw a drink back over the counter to them because ?
Well done to your other half for preventing what could have been a fatality.
Well done to you nothing should interrupt a man and his mower.

When my Father once upon being asked how is steak was replied" its a little tough actually"

This is an article taken from a website search "Never throw water on the grease fire. This is the number one mistake many people make with a grease fire; it will only succeed in making things worse. Water and oil don't mix. In this case, their mixing will create a disaster."
"Because water is heavier than oil, it immediately sinks to the bottom of the pan. (Water and oil are not soluble.) There, it becomes superheated and evaporates quickly; this evaporation expands rapidly, pushing and splattering the burning out in all directions.[2]"

Again if the grass was wet the fire could of spread.
