Spell check did a grand job with Esso
I must admit, the kids didn’t enjoy the above story as much as some of his other work!
This comes under the heading of “May contain nuts” labelling, in many instances there’s no reason why it should, but if it does it’s your problem not ours.
A Supplier/Manufactures view on the E5/E10 issue here
Has anyone actually put this to the test yet with their garden machinery ?
I have... been running all my stihl strummers blowers hedgetrimmers and chainsaw on E10 no problems ...at the moment !
This is reassuring to hear Lee 2 stroke and 4 stroke might be okay with E10
I still feel its a gamble with lawn mowers i might go for the super unleaded .
I felt sad today seeing an old classic Jag stranded , could have being due to some other fault but makes you think .
My wifes car seems to run better on E10 , a noticeable difference in performance and more economical .
Garden Machinery Direct who Gary linked to is run by my local machinery dealer Ron Smith, if you ask nicely and are prepared to pay a bit more than the GMD price and collect you can get showroom service, picking up the machine ready to run with the oil and a bit of petrol in it at less than the showroom price.
When I bought a Honda mower there was a showroom price less a Honda cash back promotion, the RS website price and the GMD website price, I ended up paying a bit more than the GMD price, but started the mower to run it onto the back of my pickup to bring it home as it had both oil and petrol in it.

Most dealers will set your new machine up Andrew .
There used to be confusion as to wether or not you should continue to use the same fuel or mix the dealer had put into the machines fuel tank i think they develop a taste for the good stuff .
What if we purchase a new mower now , what will go into the tank at the dealers , If things go wrong with the fuel will it affect the warranty ?
Yes the dealers will, but the online suppliers have to drain the machines of fuel and lubricant prior to despatch as the carriers won’t accept them ready to run.
It’s not the end of the world to most customers having to fill the machines with fuel and lubricant before using them, but it good to have the main dealer service at a discount and have the machine ready to run.
It does beg the question what fuel was used when the machine had its predelivery inspection, whether the machine has fuel in it or not.
