Hi Emily,
Not too sure about the exterior polished finish on concrete. I assume it will be like the inside finishes in a 5* hotel. If so It will be too slippy on the outside. have a look for concrete flooring companies. Sorry can't help.
Can you not persuade the client towards a high end polished and sawn natural stone?
cheers
sam
If you did your own you could mix in coloured aggregates and even coloured glass. then once its cured hire the polishing machine and do it yourself, ive seen this and it looke like nothing else. after grinding get it sealed with a non slip addative.
Wish I could persuade them towards a paving stone! - I've taken loads of samples, but they are quite fixed on having an industrial look, so natural stone is out...
I've seen some websites "urbancrete" was one, but have sent emails and left phone messages but no replies :(
There don't seem to be any companies other than the industrial flooring type outside of London

Emily - http://www.creationflooring.co.uk/ have a base in Leeds and they do Polished concrete - Although i do not know how helpful they may be for you.
They have some examples on their site including some polished outdoors.
Also - and industrial look for a garden? Enlighten me please?
BTW welcome to LJN - Your semi local to myself (Leeds) so if I can help point you towards any suppliers let me know.
Hi Emily,
I did a bit of research into this for a client, I looked at the Artevia products by Lafarge - they do a range of different textures ( Exposed, Stone and Polish) and colours..

Unfortunately I was told they had no concrete plants that could supply to my area in Essex, maybe my project was too small!
Worth a look though. I'd be interested to hear how you get on as I still need to find a solution. I like the idea of doing a 'DIY' mix with local aggregates & glass etc. but the difficulty is showing samples to the client.
Good luck
Jill
what area are you
there is a contractor here in west sussex ive used in the past who carry out concrete finishes
or have you thought about resin bonded finishes
Hi thanks for all replies really helpful!
Jill, the Lafarge website is really good lots of photos etc... The main issue I think is as you say, getting a "sample" of the finished look, but perhaps this might help the client decide what they want or don't want!
I know the idea "industrial" look for a garden might sound a bit weird, perhaps modernist/Le Corbusier might describe it better!
I'll update how the job progresses
Thanks everyone x
