Less dust. And if they're kept clean and dry help to collect better. But you're never going to keep the bag spotless if it's used commercially.

Viking do a fabric bag as an option. The plastic one is miles better in the wet, though.
I always have two collectors for each machine.The ones for wet weather get opened up by drilling half inch holes over most of the box if they are rigid or fabic ones get a stanley blade slicing.
Works for me and very little wet grass finds its way out doing it this way.
For the price of an extra collector it makes a difference to my work routine without downing tools and heading home feeling pissed off loading work onto the following day
