well, if the old path is at a useful level and solid (no movement/expansion cracks), amd not just an inch skim of concrete spread over the soil you could slab straight over it
my worry is the sides is just soil
okay cool still use 4-1 mix sharp sand and cement or do i use different to lay on concrete
I would also dampen the concrete path or seal it with SBR to prevent it from drying out your mix too quickly/ unevenly
