paving on ground

me dilemma is : there is a concrete path about a meter width and either side is soil about 50 cms width. my customer wants paving . should i just dig up the concrete path dig down and do the paving buy adding sub base etc .. or is there another way of doing it.

  • well, if the old path is at a useful level and solid (no movement/expansion cracks), amd not just an inch skim of concrete spread over the soil you could slab straight over it

  • my worry is the sides is just soil

  • okay cool still use 4-1 mix sharp sand and cement or do i use different to lay on concrete

  • I would also dampen the concrete path or seal it with SBR to prevent it from drying out your mix too quickly/ unevenly
