I've got the 4ft Niwaki one and the 8ft henchman with adjustable legs. I find that standing on the top step of the niwaki gives me near enough the same height as the 'top' step on the Henchman, which could be aroud the 5ft mark, as the top step has that frame around it. Yes you can adjust the legs on the henchman to get more height but I rarely take it out now as the Niwaki fits in the van nicely, it's incredibly lightweight and I can do most sensible hedges with that and an extension on the hedge trimmer. For bigger hedges I get the 14ft Henchman out.
It looks like the Hendon and Henchman are quite similar in that they don't allow you to stand on the top step of the ladder, where the Niwaki does. Not that you'd want to be too high up and balancing on the top step!
