  • when did you pray them?  i look forward to the results i need something that will sort these out

  • This weed is a nightmare at one of the gardens i look after for an elderly lady. I am unable to spray as she has a large number of bulbs that her husband but in before he passed away so have to hand pull and dig it out carefully also there has started to appear a large amount to ground elder which has started to flower in between visits which i am heistant to remove as the bees are flocked over it and i know there struggling to survive in the UK.

I feel sometimes you have to let nature do its work.

  • Hi

i gave up spraying them a long time ago.  Hand pulling and digging as Austin says is the hard but effective way.

I now have certain dedicated areas of our garden where its allowed to grow and then its cut and dried and used as a hair tonic.. The high Silica content is just one of its mineral benefits. Havnt gone as far as potting it up and selling it !... ..Yet.

  • Ive had the same nice weed,  i searched and posted on the site, What i did was -  walked all over it wipeing my feet breaking it up, then spray  2 weeks brown/yellow, 4 weeks well dead, dug over ground left it for a week, then some started to re grow so spray again, left it for a week, nothing, dug again phew its gone! year two and only the odd bit pokeing up further along or in street, so same as above. so far its gone.

I don't know why people are disparing about this, kurtail is massively effective and will kill it easily.

  • yes  - i have photo today and its worked,  extremley effective .  post asap of dead kurtailed mares tail weed !!!

best to spray while its fully growing ie june in sunshine and dont tread on/snap as one little bit will regrow on its own ....
