  • hi Joe not against the law at all, don't you worry. just be sure to plant them set back from the actual boundary a bit so when grown they can be kept trimmed to it yet form a decent thickness

  • All leylandai should be illleagal, at the very least the ownw=ers must be vetted and  found suitible candidates to look after it propperly.

    • Lets not be silly...............  they make good hedges when trimmed regularly + quick to establish as well.  Years ago, people did used to plant them in inappropriate places but that doesn't seem to happen much these days. 

  • and Laurel... they can be a nightmare as well. Leylandii at least don't send out suckers or re grow if cut off at ground level

    If it is a deemed front garden area, a defined boundary hedge, then in most areas the hedge, the height would need to be 3' or 1m
