  • I wonder if perhaps a different make of knapsack might help........... my cp sprayers require minimal effort to manually pressurise them and keep them going. Is the pump handle jammed in any way? Can you reverse the pump handle so you can use the other arm instead. How about bending the handle to find a slightly more suitable angle. Haven't tried anm electric one so can't advise on that I'm afraid
  • Thanks for your suggestions but it's not jammed (other people can use it fine) - so also can't 'customise' it. Matter of size I think.

The best electric sprayer is the berthoud but only 8 hours battery life as Steve mentioned so would need regularly charging up.

I Use a berthoud Vermorel Pro comfort (manual pump), this is a farr better sprayer than a CP in all respects, do a forum search on berthoud and you will get a post i did recently with comparisons.
  • Anne, I can't work out why you have problems with the handle angle. The travel on my sprayer is from vertical (when parked) to horizontal i.e. handle pointing forward. When I've filled mine, I give it a few pumps to pressurise it and leave the handle in the down position before hoisting onto my back. My elblow is then in line with the handle axis and to maintain pressure while spraying, I just raise the handle about six inches and push down (and repeat a couple of times) to keep the pressure up while I'm walking. The handle doesn't need to be raised back to the vertical. Don't know if that's any help or if I'm stateing the obvious. I find the most difficult aspect of a knapsack is getting it onto my back when full charged !!
