    • Sorry I was told they phoned a company out to get rid of jkw

I saw that you have worked for them and presumed it was your company, my fault.

    Hi Nathan

Thanks for joining LJN - what advice could you give regarding Japanese knotweed stem injection?
  • PRO
This is why LJN is so, so good - Thanks Paul.

Do you use the syringe spout (with no needle) ?
Do you inject a full 25mm dose ?
I assume the 60/40 mix gives good viscosity ?
Do you look to inject in a particular location or just as low down as you can reasonably can?

Spraying is out the question due to location and the client (commercial) is paranoid about us taking action asap....
  • Hi Gary,

Can't really add anymore to the advice already received. The only query I would raise is the kill within one month.

    Regards,

    JKSL
  • I have a question not really related to this subject. Does anyone use sodium chlorate as a weed killer? My old boss used to use it. I did hear that is was taken off the market? If you dont use sodium chlorate, why not?
    Thanks
  • I sell the JK Stem Injector through IG Horticulture Ltd; it is a purpose made injector that is used at any time during the growing season. In practice I have found that use in August tends to be most effective, especially as the stems are large enough to hold the chemical between the nodes. Application needs to be made above the second node.
See http://www.steminjectionsystems.com/stem-injection.html for a video of its use.
In trials held in a local nature reserve, at least 90% weed control was found after a single application.
The injector is especially useful next to areas of water or if growing amongst other plants.
All operators will need to hold PA1 and PA6A or PA6AW.
