    I like Al;an Titchmarsh.

Love Your Garden has a fresher, younger appeal than Ground Fource ever did.

I watched a repeat last Sunday. A couple of observations.

5 Artemesia at about 6 inch (15cm) centres, on a rockery.

Anyone who's ever grown Artemesia will know that it's a great groundcover plant and it's difficult to retain it. One plant can easily exceed 1m in diameter.

Here's one of mine - it was about 10cm wide when planted last spring. It's been cut right back to the ground this spring and been trimmed twice already this season.

At one point, someone was filmed trying to dig a hole for a Cornus kousa. The ground was so hard that they had to use a wrecking bar to break up the soil. But when it came to laying the turf the same ground was just raked over (no apparent levelling) and than the turf rolled out/

I didn't see scaffold boards used at all and the turf was promptly walked over.

Having said all that, the planting looked impressive and the impact of the whole garden was immediate and quite moving. Clearly no lack of budget or manpower to achieve their goal.

    Good TV though:)

One nice aspect of the show is that the website explains a little bit about the designs and who designed them: http://loveyourgarden2.wordpress.com/the-gardens/aspirational-gardens/
