  • I prefer the triple sided ones, cuts hedges in no time!

  • Oh I will order one
  • I much prefer a single sided with deflector as it makes the tops of small hedges so much faster. It's also lighter and usually available with a longer blade length.

  • double for me but i am left handed

  • same as simon. personally i feel the single is also safer, i once nicked my leg using a double, could not have had the same mishap with a single.

Double sided any day. I bought a single sided Kawa, used it once and threw it to the back of the unit. They just dont feel right to me.The plus side is they are much safer though

  • I've never tried a single but do want to give it a go. Big bonus of a double is that you can alternate cutting directions to rest the arms. But I do see the advantage of a single sider, especially going to a 40" blade over a 30, and the wiper to scoop the trimmings away, but then a blower does that in no time as well.

I'd like something a bit better than the HS81R. It's just a bit rough, hard to start and the blade bolt kit seems to keep coming loose no matter what.

  • Try an echo 33es Dan. Mine is 6 years old and still starts great every time. It is by far the easiest starting machine i have ever used. When its done i'll be getting the same but the longer 40'' one
