Hard prune of privet hedge

Hi guys and girls 

hope everyone is well and not too wet

 

I have been given the go ahead to heavily prune a privet hedge , can this be done into November ? I would like to hold off as long as possible really

  • hi it should be fine to do in November yes, will look a bit bare over the Winter that's all

  • If you do it in November it will be bare sticks through winter, might as well leave until Jan, but after that there might be nests.

  • November should be fine, compost / mulch, and topdress with a good handful of Vitax Q4 in the Spring. 

  • did one every year at one house, once a year heavy cut back off the footpath and top september/october time never a problem
