Etesia Bahia V Hydro 80

Hello,

I'm considering this type of machine for my small grounds maintenance business. Does any one know the component difference between the Bahia and the hydro? Last year I got a great dane scamper 28, Brilliant but walking 12 miles a day was wearing thin! + with the ride on I can pick up clippings too which would make it usefull for some of my Domestic grounds. Cheers.

  • hydro's have a clock so you can tell the hours worked - useful if your buying second hand, bahia doesn't

  • Are you sure Hydro 80 is not just a generic name? I think all the Etesia 100m wide cuts are referred to as Hydro 100s, whether MVEHH, Evolution etc

They look the same apart from silver wheels on Hydro. £900 difference both with Kawasaki engines. Must be more to it... Hopefully seeing at a machine show soon where Etesia have a stall.

The Bahia 80's are rated as a high end domestic/semi-commercial machine.

The Hydro 80's are the 'full commercial' version.

The Hydro has larger wheels, an uprated/stronger front axle/steering and an uprated H/S gearbox (and cooling ?), additional 'styling; and a few other small items. I believe the Hydro has not a B&S (and a Honda ?) engine as a choice - that's as we understand it.

    Hope that helps

  • Thanks Gary, that's the info I was looking for. I think either of these would be good for me. Need to be able to pick up in the wet, west coast of Scotland is often wet!

    Cheers

  • Hi Tom, Gary kindly pointed me toward your thread as I happen to be in the west of Scotland and selling my Hydro 80. The reason I'm selling is that this season I only have one job each fortnight where it gets used and I can easily make do with one of my smaller machines for this one-off each couple of weeks. A machine like this should be out getting used regularly so it seems a waste to keep it idle most of the time.

I've had it after buying it used for a couple of years and looked after it carefully. Everything works, it's an honest machine with scrapes and scratches but no hidden gremlins. I got a new blade brake and clutch around a year ago so that is all pretty fresh and will last a long time. I've put it on gumtree at £1995 but honestly view that as an opening price and would happily listen to offers. Comes with mulch plug and blade as well.

If you're interested let me know, my details are on my site at www.danfrazergardening.co.uk

    Cheers.

  • Hi Dan, That is interesting. I'll send you an email from your web site.

Thanks Gary for giving Dan the nod too.

    Tom.
