Having a fun week ill tell you,

I Priced a nice half day job taking 6' off a conifer tree and reinstating/turning over the ladies borders only to find 3" down a hidden sub layer of stone and clay that felt like it had been cooked in an oven.

Then today walked the dogs in the morning with the tools loaded in the van and came back to a smashed window and nothing left, beggars even took my face plate off the stereo and the claims lines aren't open till monday, right enough moping I'm going to go walk around ness gardens to cheers me up.

  • Oh, so sorry to hear that. I always clear my van out in the evening. Five minutes spent on that makes me sleep better at night.

Have you marked your tools with special ink in case the police find the tools so can return to you?

Keep an eye on Ebay as they may turn up on there, I kid you not!

Marking tools is a good idea, a few years ago after having a hedge cutter stolen, I spray painted all of my tools from top to bottom in "hot pink", worked a treat, no bugger wants to work with a bright pink back pack blower....
  • What a bastard, where abouts are you Rory?

    • On the Wirral, fairly small place but I recon it'll all end up in Liverpool like it normally does

A super walk around a super garden, best stress reliever in the world, sorry to hear this mate, have you got a list of the tools taken? If yes, put a post on the pro forum to let us know what to look out for, don't list them on the open forum though as anyone could be reading this and they will know exactly what new tools you will be buying to replace the old ones, and may strike again...
    • Yeah the place is amazing, myself and my partner are going to have our wedding there next year. It was part of the reason we went there today :)
  • It was in the morning before I went to work, just loaded the van up and went to walk the dogs for 15 and it happened. Sad thing is I even had all the tools covered by a builders sack so nothing was on show. I've told all the local tree surgeons what's been nicked but in not counting on seeing any of it again.
Tools lost were few but will cost me to replace as they're all stihl and one set of my climbing gear.
Ms261, Ms201T and a Ms660. Full set of ropes and a new zigzag, kit bag with 2 silkys, carabiners, cambium savers etc, a long reach silky, a big shot, climbing lid, 2 chainsaw fuel cans then noticed my iPhone 6 and the stereo faceplate had gone. Recon about 3.5k to replace the lot and I've only got 2.5k cover :(
