Looking at possibly changing from our Hayter 56 pro,s to these. Got a downer on Hayter, don't take on board or respond to legitimate comments.
The Cobra website is poor, hope that's not a reflection on the mowers? Anyway what we need to know is the roller ribbed or smooth? The hydrostatic drive is this fixed or variable speed ? Be grateful for feedback from pro users as to wet collection, reliability and whether warranty claims are honoured without grief. Thanks.
Update just looked at Cobra garden on Trust pilot, 78 % one star reviews! Granted most refer to domestic kit but what's telling is there isn't one reply to legitimate complaints from Cobra which is indicative of the attitude. We've got your money and we don't care what happens afterthat, so we won't be buying a Cobra !

Plenty of other clones of the Cobra like Danarm / kubota and some others all made by Kazz . We have a Danarm model High speed it great very well made etc like everything that comes out of Japan it seems . Rollers are smooth and locked ( can't think of the word ) they don't move like the hayters so they harder to turn. collection is excellent wet grass no problem until you have to carry the box to the heap or bin . Don't know about the hydrostatic drive but I'd assume its variable .
They are reliable but some have problems with the rollers after a couple of seasons work which can be a expensive fix.
Thanks, a smooth solid roller is a non starter for us due to smearing and potential damage when turning. With a heavy heart just bought another Hayter 56 Pro, I will say we have run the new model 56 since they came out and they are cutting towards 20,000 sq metres a week between them and without tempting fate have not had any issues with roller bearings etc
It's a shame that a manufacturer won't step up to the mark and listen to end users and bring out a roller mower fit for purpose without all the annoying shortcomings that all that's available have at the moment.
I would say it depends on your local dealer as much as the brand. One of the suppliers I use are very good and if something breaks will do what they can to help even if it's not strictly covered under warranty.
