  • Avoid Citroen like the plague. I have a dispatch and a lot has gone wrong with it and it's so expensive to fix because a lot of the parts have to come from Citroen themselves rather than someone like euro parts. Also my clutch shaft or something is going and it's going to cost a lot to sort because they have to drop the whole engine to get to it.
  • I have a Berlingo , had it 4 years and apart from servicing has not cost me a penny in repairs. Has just sailed through its MOT.
    I would buy another.
Like most vans look for one that has not had a hard life and you will be on a winner.

  • I've a Berlingo too, as above has not cost me a bean over and above servicing, it's reliable and economical. In fact, have had a shedload of Citroens (cars and vans) over the years, and never had a serious problem with any of them, so would happily recommend Citroen.

Had been considering upsizing to a Dispatch only for the extra capacity which would be useful at times, but reluctant to as very happy with the Berlingo and I cope OK with the smaller van setup generally.

Reckon Matt has just been unlucky, you can buy a 'lemon' of any make/model.

  • wouldn't have touched one but speaking to the guys in the garage where I get my transits served and they told me it was a transit engine in it anyway. thanks for the help guys. always a minefield!
