Cherry Blossom

I have two adjacent cherry trees in blossom (different varieties).  The weather is chilly and damp so there are no bees around.  I presume that if the blossom falls before the bees arrive I'll have no fruit.  Is it feasible to hand cross pollinate ?

  • Bump
  • Usually masses of bees here as the trees are near the swimming pool (above ground irrigation tank) and the bees use it as a watering hole but the weather's not conducive at the moment.  Better in UK than here at the mo.

  • Thanks girls.  I'll give it a try.  I don't know what the varieties they are as they were supplied by a friend who has unfortunately since passed away.  There were no labels on the trees.

This is the new baby one.  The name on the label is Stark H.G.  Don't know if that translates to anything in English ?
