Hi Chris
Why not talk to Louise at Progreen?
Progreen are LJ partners and they do pesticide training.

I wouldn't necessary look at what is the cheapest and look to see what offers the best value.
The best value course might also be the cheapest, but...you need a good quality course which will ensure you have the knowledge to pass the assessment.
Make sure you do your pA6aw and not just Pa6a. You will have four extra questions at the end of the test and it might allow you to take on extra works.
Chris,
Thanks for speaking to us with regards to training it was nice that you thought of us. We do try to be competitive on our prices but I can understand that often it can look like a large investment. I just thought it may help to show you how the costs breakdown so that you can understand how it seems to add up to the £400 (ish) level . Based on our Head Office training cost the PA1 and PA6 course breaks down as follows (prices vary according to the assessment centre you go through)
TRAINING
PA1 is £80 + VAT
PA6 is £170 + VAT
ASSESMENTS
There are then the assessments which are charged by City and Guilds
PA1 assessment is £59
PA6 assessment is £75 + £27
All exams are VAT free so the price you see is the price you pay.
I also think it is worth adding – as a number of people who have trained with us before weren’t aware – training is tax deductible. I won’t bore you with all the other bits about being qualified, checking course sizes & pass rate, having access to more cost effective products etc as I am sure you are well aware of this already. If you need any help in picking the bones out of training in the future feel free to give us a call – we are more than happy to give you advice if you need it, even if we can’t help fully on it.
Cheers Louise
Much appreciated will have a think
