I've strimmed it out before, saves damage to your mower.
I am just wondering if I let it grow it will burn itself out and next cut will eliminate it .
They were throwing bird food on lawn during winter to feed birds apparently .
It may do. Probably worth rakeing the grass upright to optimise full chopping of weed grass.
Customers stupidity amazes me sometimes 😂
are you sure its not poa annua quite common in lawns and a pain?
I know what you mean but don't think it is .
Grass was long before first cut and no evidence of this grass .
I couldn't do first cut until after lawn company had treated it a week after treatment .
First cut looked good , next cut two weeks later the thick grass started to appear in lots of clumps but came off okay .
Today a fortnight after lawn looked horrendous I cut it to usual height but this thick stuff is spreading in pale clumps the actual lawn grass is green and lush but getting crowded out by the weed grass .
Most of the bird food they were throwing on it was mostly millet but it was mixed .
I had to take two tubs away and dispose of it because the mice were all over it in the garage .
Cannabis officer?
In my garden?
It must be seeds from the bird table!
First, tell them to buy no-grow bird seed! I wonder if it could be allowed to grow a little, then use a weed-wiper on it?
Most importantly, you need to make sure the customer understands that it's their problem not yours, you're trying to help but you're not reponsible, and if any damage happens you're not liable.
I won't be losing any sleep over it .
Such a shame as it's the jewel in the crown once it's cut due to its position on the street , I get quite a few approving nods off the neighbours and people passing .
It's a short slot time wise yet i already go the extra mile because I love the garden and the customers but you can end up getting taken for granted .
If you get them to Microwave the seed before filling the feeders it stop any over spill germination on the lawn.
I have confiscated the bird seed Dave , there is enough natural food in the garden the back garden is next to a field teeming with berries and insects .
