"Julian. We used magnetics some years ago, eventually they blistered the paintwork and would blow off when travelling in high winds. And yes they advertise that your vehicle holds items worth stealing. Never had any leads from when we used them ,…"
"Throttle screws and move the governor spring across a hole.Takes less than five minutes. Can't say I have had any complaints about noise but then again I have customers I have worked for for years and never even met!"
Hi AllWhat are member's experiences of magnetic signage gor vans. I appreciate that the name and nature of the business will be free advertising but the flip side of this is advertising a cache of gardening tools available to plunder. Will this…
"Thanks Adam, an interesting counter-argument! 2 questions- 1) is this just the throttle-stop screw, and 2) are they then very noisy? We do seem to have some very noise-averse customers!"

"Peter Sellers - you are sort of wrong ref the RM48SPH.... I have several...ALL of mine have been tuned - to a VERY brisk walk on full throttle.
There's lots of 'dealers' out there that really don't understand the machines - or really care. To meet…"
"I was tempted by the Weibang, but horrified by the weight! Having seen Adam's comments, I'm tempted to look at the Cobra RM48SPH (this is mostly doing small-medium gardens). What are other people's thoughts re this mower, or Cobra in general?"

"Depends how much you want to spend.... Cobra/Kaaz/Lawnflite etc are a good machine for the money - I have run them for about ten years now. Yes the gearbox cogs are a consumable, but they aren't all that bad to do. Roller bearings do wear out…"

Hi Andrew, the information for Ilex was gathered over a 2 year period. I have a degree in Horticulture and have 10 years experience in Nursery Plant Production with Hilliers and my family business. I have worked for Andy Sturgeon for 2 years, and am now studying for a MA in Landscape Architecture. A fair amount of the information came from RHS books, Hillier Manual, Notcutts Manual, individual Nursery information, like Van den Berk on Trees, which is excellent. I am adding to the resource gradually, with plant associations, Plant Schedules, and downloadable Plant Maintenance regimes, all of which will come soon hopefully.
Many thanks,
Nick
Congratulations on Ilex I have just viewed for the first time. I guess I am lagging behind the times having relied on encyclopedic plant knowledge built up over 35 years for my work. I am intrigued as to how you obtain the text for each plant and how the profile is built up, is there a resource for this or have you used your encyclopedic knowledge for this?
Thanks for joining us :) I hope that you find the experience a good one. This is a great network of professional and amateur gardeners to share and learn with.
