Your favourite whacker/compactor plates?

Hello All,

We are forever receiving feedback from our trade clients on their compaction plates and it seems everyone has their own preference even when carrying out the same job.

Therefore we would like to put it out there for you guys to tell us which is your favourite Whacker plate and what type of application you use it for?

Kind regards

  • I only hire them in currently but normally a small Belle. Normally sub base for patios or artificial grass
    • We have a small Belle 320px I think, runs really well and seems to shake you to death less!

Good to know you fit artificial grass James, which area do you work in?

      • The belle I try to hire has low vibs than others. We can have a solid 8 hours on the one we try to get??

        Essex and some of suffolk
  • I use a cheap locoin engined one used a belle dont see much difference

    • Did you find the Belle a little less rattly !

  • i use belle rpc 30/50 forward/reverse, due to doing only hard landscaping this is a great bit of kit and in my opinion easier to use than just a forward one, only drawback is that i had to buy a crane to fit on to the back of my truck as wacker weighs 178kg

    • would love one but I don't do enough of it to justify buying one! although I would probably be able to hire one out to some of the guys I know.

    • Nice, the forward/reverse are the real deal for hard landscapers I guess..!

Ours is around 60kg so a little more manageable!

  • i bought a belle second hand for £300 about 3 years ago. great it of kit and so convenient not having to hire one in. paid for itself in less than 6 months

    • Pretty much considering the same thing! But we don't do loads of hard landscaping
