Most expensive was a used mower. Kaaz pro-type, described as 30 hours maximum use and as-new. Got there to find it was unmarked: he'd used it a few times for his home lawn but decided to get a gardener instead. £550 for a new machine, can't argue with that!
Best? Echo backpack blower for £80, a couple of miles from home. I only need it for one site, and it's in it's second season now. A little smokey, but for infrequent use a used pro machine is so much better than a cheap-brand new one.
Worst? Can't honestly think of one. Oh yes, a mobile phone car-holder that broke the first time I used it. Under a £, can't expect otherwise I guess. I love ebay, but you have to tread carefully and be prepared to argue if things aren't as described.
Still have it if anyone knows of an engine being available, or other one for scrap? Engine is a D750
I purchased a blower around 2 two years ago, not a bad price but i had to drive to Kent, Sittingborne to pick up, 120 mile round trip, Thats was the bad bit.
The good bit was that I've used my contact ever since. He gets hold of used chainsaws, blowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers, there all cleaned, serviced, and given a very honest opinion of what they are. generally he has Stihl, Husquavarna, and Echo equipment, and around a 1/3 of the cost. So that origonal blower what a bargain. My contact is a call away, non of it is stolen, all purchased as spares and repairs, or part-ex equipment.
The worst was probably some of the impulse buys ive won, then regreted months down the line.

There's a guy in Aylesbury who does the same, I got my little Etesia from him for £100. He buys in bulk loads of ex-council stuff and makes the best from the good bits.
I've always had great success with Ebay...... even with a Masport that I bought for £100 and then found the engine was knackered...... seller refunded £50 which I used to buy another engine. That mower is still going strong after 5+ years and is used for several hours every day during the summer.
Best buy was two HS86t 40" hedgecutters "for spares or repair" for £70 the two. Fixed up one out of the 2...... then sold the leftover bits for about £80. Also had a good deal with a Kazz 21" mower for spares... £40.......used the chassis/handles/front wheels/cables to renovate my Kazz and sold the leftovers for about £50.... amazingly, someone bought the engine for £25 with a bent crankshaft.
Best an etesia PBTS for £120 including grass box, which blew up after 1 season (3 weeks back)
Most expensive, a SISIS Aerator that needed another 400 odd of work to make it good.
Cheapest a sachs dolmar 1986 chainsaw at £20 and now my fav as it just has the power.
Worst - Probably the PBTS as it has forever been drinking oil, requiering new bits hear and their and then died.
