Local builders merchants sell them for around £5 per bag or you can bulk buy from eBay or similar
I get these, they last quite well and I drag them everywhere.

I get mine free from the local council tip . Just ask it's always worth it and they get lots in and save them for me.
Too many get slashed to empty them, rendering them useless.

I am from the days before tonne bags, it did always seem easier to have sand and gravel loose.
Couldn't agree more Andrew. I've always had a tipper. Even now that we are soley garden maintenance, I can't get rid of my Cabstar Tipper - old habits die hard!!
look out for builders and ask them, over the years i have got loads of them i have just given about 20 away tonight to a young lad just starting up on his own
J&HM Dickson Ltd in Rutherglen sell them.
They also sell smaller half-tonne bulk bags which are a handier size @ £3 or £4 each.
I've been given so many of these over the years.
