Hi Niall - I would do a prize of 2 hours free gardening with you and your tools - I do several for charities and it usually works as a loss leader by generating goodwill and more work. Its about the only time I will work 'hourly' - when I'm doing it for free!
I think I'll go for the two hours gardening with my tools . At least if nothing else comes from it I'll only lose 2 hours.
if you have the time and the energy - its good to help, nice to get a blessing in return although you should not give to receive !
Hi Niall,
How about you offer to set up some form of allotment / raised bed etc etc. You could sell it as an ongoing nature / science experiment for the kids. you prepare the bed for Veg planting, the kids maintain the garden and tell their parents how wonderful the whole experience has been.
You might even pick up some work from the parents?
Just a thought
Regards
Simon
Although I have to offer something for the parents at the ballet but maybe something to offer in the future.
Thanks
Niall
£10-£15 (wholesale price) rhododendron or similar specimen plant, or even a containerised fancy tree,......something which might retail at £30-50. Don't forget what seems common or garden to us will appear more valuable to Joe Public.
I would not offer labour as a prize, it just doesn't seem right to me. I don't know why but i get the feeling that it cheapens your company's image. I think you should offer a pair of Felco's, good quality spade or some plants or something like that.
