  • Hi Paul, we advertise nowhere else at all, not even in phonebooks. Some of the contractors linked to CSL do so but do not find it brings in the specific contracts. I am not sure how much of the contacts made are because we are a little bit different or whether it is simply now a standard method of sourcing a contractor. However we recently included Tree Wise Cornwall into CSL and have seen a rapid response to this much more so I think than from a traditional advertising campaign. It is also by far the cheapest method of advertising but open to abuse, there is a new company in our area who have just lifted masses of material and even photos from our site as well as using keywords to beat us in the ratings when they are not qualified to do such work.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

I've bitten the bullet and have decided to get myself a web presence.

I've mainly been advertising in local glossies, flyers plus word of mouth (I always ask new customers how they found about me) - all methods successfully.

I've bought a domain name and the basic hosting service from tsohosts and have written a basic website using wordpress which I will develop as and when time permits. The total cost for this - just under £21 plus my time which I see as a bargain.
