We want Pro Gard back campaign

Following on from Chris' comment asking about Paul Forster, I thought what a great idea if we were to encourage Paul back to LJN.

In fact it would be a great idea to encourage everyone like Paul onto LJN.

For those who didn't have the privilege to learn from Paul's wisdom and knowledge, you've really missed out: sorry!.

Paul is the epitome of the kind practitioner that makes the landscape and horticulture industry tick. Paul's straight talking no-nonsense style was refreshing and right for LJN.

There was nothing Paul didn't appear to know and if he didn't Paul know he would research the answer and let us know.

Landscape Juice needs the Paul Forster's of this world.

If anyone knows where Paul is or what he is doing then please get in touch. LJN would love hear from Paul.

  • Pro gard an absolute one off so helpfully it was beyond belief almost felt I should be paying him for his advice bring back pro gard the etesia guru and anything else he went the extra mile to help people

Have noticed in the past that his old posts don't show on an archive search, only others quoting of his posts, which might suggest he erased all input before leaving?

Would be great if he could be persuaded to return though; a real font of knowledge with a direct and straight to the point style of posting.

  • Chris and I talked about Paul when we spoke yesterday, and I suggested to Chris that he'd be a good person to have back. We did have a few battles though lol!

  • ProGard - and yes I did think one time that the guy must be in touch with an oracle somewhere - One memorable post he started was "the nine different types of customer" if you were here then, you must remember it? I also remember the brilliant way he handled when someone (wrongly) called him an egoist, and mostly from his I-phone on his lunch break!

The best thrashing out of the hourly charge v. quote that I remember seeing was between Paul and Jenny Owen... which is lost now.

Colin Stevens was smarter than he sometimes came across too - and gave a lot of good advice - my missus kinda lost interest after he left

(just thought I'd better amend that)

  • Don't forget the legendary proGard van. Everything had a place. Never seen a van kitted out like it.

I'm sure he must still be reading the posts on LJN. Someone who contributed so much over the years can't just disappear. Would be good to see him back.

here here. It is a shame that his previous comments and posts have been lost also - they were all so useful!

  • Paul was a top bloke, really missed him on here, tried to trace him on facebook etc to no avail. He was a very intelligent chap, and yes... his van was incredible, the most organised i have ever witnessed.

Good bloke, be great to see him back !!

Just out of curiousity, why did he leave ?????.......
  • I don't expect Paul to be looking in much anymore - and btw - I always thought his name - ProGard - was short for Pro Gardener ?
