The wavy edge is usually used for mulching. Judging by the high lift wing on your blade it looks like a dual purpose mulch or collect blade.
I thought that & I wonder why Mountfield use it on a rear roller mower that they say is collection only. It's my neighbour's machine.
It's still easier to collect slightly smaller pieces of grass though. Looks like the top bit of the wave is supposed to be sharp too?
Also all GGP mowers seem to share a blade regardless of their use.
But it's the wrong way round. The tip of the blade is cutting lowest so the grass is already cut before the higher bit. Mountfield also have their Twinclip blade & a funny looking thing it is too:

If I am cutting long grass I always set the height higher at the front.
