Sue them!! Has the thing been apart recently.......... looks like part of the "thrust plate" though how it could be pushed through a properly tightened down joint is a mystery...... wouldn't have thought it possible to be honest.
Nor would I & no it's never been opened. I have a further problem in that I am in Ireland where Stihl use an intermediary. I will have to repair it myself when I can find somewhere to get the parts.
I would love a parts diagram if anyone has one.
I would also love Stihl's opinion but I can't see a way to PM them.
If you go to Stihl's website, there is a 'Contact' hotlink top r/h side of home screen.
You can then contact Customer Services....I suspect there's something more to this but steaming in to Sue them is not probably the best opening gambit !...
We've used it many times and they are generally quite responsive if you approach them as a professional contractor.
Problem is I am not in the UK - but I will try
If Stihl UK is the supplier to the Eire subsidiary / importer they will direct you....
or try here:http://www.stihl.ie/ or
http://www.stihl-importer.ie/index.aspx?_ga=2.213199700.1922912126....
No they use an agent who handles several brands & is useless. It's one thing I miss from England
Also - may be of use:

You can see what it is...
Thanks. I have taken the old one apart many times.
Here's the pdf file for the HL100................... I might be wrong here but I think it has your cutting head on it. Anyway, gives you a good idea what's in the gearbox. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dwPPrubiTpAZElAZlDlj32xy1RFsooJm/v...
