I use a Bulldog wheel clamp on the trailer and those round "Limpet" type locks on the rear and side doors. We're in a bad area for Pikies driving past and nicking anything thats not bolted down so this security has worked well for many years. Problem with a "locked compound" might be they're able to use an anglegrinder without worrying about the sound.
I was lucky... always able to park the vehicles up the end of a locked long gravel driveway - with bright PIR floodlights
I had reinforced steel cage internally but this reduced valuable internal space and created user access problems which was ridiculous but it was very effective in stopping tool and machine theft .
Van theft perhaps wheel clamps to prevent van being moved .
Handbrake security device worth considering .
I would also post on mobile home ,van lifer, community sites as there may be a more niche or bespoke solution .
Could you use a retractable bollard of some sort?
I believe the new Disklok Diamond edition had good reviews
I empty the van every night it takes 10 minutes. They can have the van it's worth more on insurance than I paid since the covid hike. Failing that get a better gate block. I have a friend who drops a concrete block in the middle of that every night they aren't getting past that
not sure about emtying everything out... sounds like a right pain! All the Stihl stuff comes out for sure and that only takes a couple of minutes. Might not look so "profesional" but an oldish, tatty van that's not signwritten certainly helps I'm sure.
Good point Graham I only attracted machine and tool theft when I invested in a brand new van and had it signed written , I never encountered a single problem before this .
The problem with older vans is the Caz and ulez charges they attract .
A sign written van is asking for trouble, we have never have ours written
