About the Landscape Juice Network

Founded in 2008. The Landscape Juice Network (LJN) is the largest and fastest growing professional landscaping and horticultural association in the United Kingdom.

LJN's professional business forum is unrivalled and open to anyone within within the UK landscape industry

LJN's Business Objectives Group (BOG) is for any Pro serious about building their business.

For the researching visitor there's a wealth of landscaping ideas, garden design ideas, lawn advice tips and advice about garden maintenance.

Another thread asked about useful apps for use when out and about. I carry a small selection of books to which I can refer if necessary. Just wondering what books other landscapers refer to regularly.

In the van I have:

Pruning Bible: George Brown's Pruning of Trees, Shrubs and Conifers. ( I bought 20 copies wholesale prices when at college and sold 19 at a small profit in pre Amazon days). Second choice: RHS Pruning & Training, good pictures

Weeds: Collins Wildflowers of Britain and Northern Europe...(Know your enemy!)

Pests etc: Pests ,Diseases and Disorders of Garden plants by Stefan Buczacki (what happened to him?) & Keith Harris

Plant ID/Conditions: Readers Digest Encyclopedia of Garden Plants and flowers; Hillier manual of Trees and shrubs; RHS Guides (3) Shrubs and Climbers, Garden Trees, Perennials

Trees: Alan Mitchell's Trees of Britain and Northern Europe

Vegetables: Hessayon's The Vegetable Expert:(Some may turn their nose up, but I have all the expert books handy at home.)

All in an old briefcase...find I can answer most of my own and customers' queries with these.

What does anybody else recommend? And please avoid pornography...the one from which the customer shows you a photo and demands the same in their garden eg wildflower meadow looking like the photo for 12 months of the year!
