Turfing ground water logged help

Lifted a lawn monday rotovated ground and Tuesday obviously torrential rain from Monday night has water logged it there are small puddles any suggestions other than letting it dry out? I'm currently thinking of dumping 3 ton of top soil on it to soak up the moisture?

  • Patience, patience Mitchel!!!!!  We rotavated a rear garden third week October, the following day it rained, then it rained and rained until Christmas! We eventually got back on the ground to grade and complete in mid February!!  Once you open up the ground, it acts like a sponge - better to leave until you know you can rotavate, prep and lay in one go.

This time of year, your ground will soon have a workable top and you will be up and running!
